Evie Hartley representing the club in Wales last week, racing well at the BC Nat Champs Scratch and finishing 4th in the Madison. Whilst Evie was disappointed with her results, she was happy that her fitness and conditioning was in the best possible shape & also learned a great deal racing with the best in the UK. There are loads of positives to take forward into the rest of the season.
Valuable experience gained both on and off the bike, with a range of challenges to deal with as both races were red flagged and subject to lengthily restart delays. All the girls involved were thankfully okay. Evie avoided the spills and was positioned extremely well before the track was closed in each event and really had to keep calm and focused when the races restarted with just a few laps remaining.
Evie was given an extra boost on Friday with a surprise visit from our head of youth development, Rich Clarke and his son Ben who cheered her on through a gruelling and extremely exciting Madison finale!
