Yesterday marked our annual Cyclocross event at Shipley Park and what a huge success it was.
Over 270 riders of all abilities turned up and gave it their best and getting a little bit muddy in the process!
For those who missed them, here are the results from yesterday:
As with any event ran by the club, we’re extremely privileged to be able to do so and this (and any other) event simply would not have been possible without the selfless efforts of our many volunteers.
The nice coffee van and real Belgian fries van were very “helpful “encouraging” too!
For those that don’t know, the course took 2 and a half hours to set up with the volunteers starting at a pitch black 5:30AM and many staying the whole day to finish at gone 4PM.
We’d like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who made this possible this year, you’re truly a major component of what makes Ilkeston CC so ‘ARDCORE.
Alongside this, we were happy to welcome our friends at Ben’s Den who came and hosted an amazing cake stall, ultimately raising £333 for a very worthy cause with many cakes baked and donated generously by our members!
Ben’s Den is a dedicated children’s charity based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and set up in memory of Ben Parker, who sadly passed away in 2003 following a battle with leukaemia.
The aim of the charity is to support the families of children fighting leukaemia or cancer, by gifting them a free holiday and allowing them to spend much needed, quality family together away from the overwhelming hospital environment.
Lastly, a number (1200+!) of ametuer photos were taken on the day and have all been uploaded for anyone to view, download and use as they wish.
Both JPG and NEF (RAW) files have been provided.
