When we were approached by our friends at Derby Arena and asked whether we’d like to lead out the peloton of the Tour of Britain Stage 4, you can imagine how we reacted…
It looked a bit like this 👉
Well, writing this after the day that’s just unfolded I’m sat here still bewildered at the opportunity we had. Over 20 of our finest Youth Academy members and supporting riders were lined up at the official start line of stage 4, and with crowds cheering and smiles on the kids’ faces wider than their heads, we set off with police escort down the arena ramp and onto the roads of Pride Park.
What can only be described as unreal, riding on the roads with little to no traffic and crowds of people cheering us on shows just how awesome this sport is.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I’d say that these photos speak plenty for themselves:
A couple of our riders even managed to make themselves even more famous 😲:
We’d like to thank our generous sponsors & supporters for making things like this possible 🙌
If you like what you see, or have a young’en that wants to get out on a bike, we’d love to see you:
