I hope you have all enjoyed the World Championships as much as I have over the last week. Some of the racing has been epic and truly inspiring.
We have a real chance for one of our own riders reaching the highest level in the sport. If you are a local business or entrepreneur who would like to help us to achieve this goal then read on.
When the club started we had a 10yr plan to compete at the highest level. Our Youth Academy has been central to this goal. With us now entering our 6th year some of our Academy riders are now at the age where they are now competing Nationally on Track, Road and in CX. This is something we are immensely proud of. Over the last 12months through the support of our current sponsors we have been able to provide our highest performers with personalised Performance Coaching through Velospeed Coaching, which has made a real impact, enabling them compete at this level. We have recently had some very positive discussions with the Derbyshire Institute of Sport and with the help of a new local sponsor we are able to add this to our athlete support package. This is really exciting as it will give athletes access to a vast range of services including strength & conditioning, sports nutrition and psychology.
But to maintain this level of support and to take our athletes to the next level, into the GB Team’s Elite Development programme or into the Professional ranks we need your help. Support with the costs of the above performance packages is our priority but we are also looking at how else we can support a wider range of riders to achieve their full potential. Sponsorship previously has ranged from £100 to £5000 and can be a one off contribution or longer term relationship.
