Chris Harby
- Always digs 100% and just keeps on going, i call him the mile smasher
- Shown great improvement on the road and commitment to improve. Rides to and from the market place and often adds on extra miles to stretch himself further. Often those who ride with him are heard saying “you need to move up to faster inters”. Think he loves the inters comradely too much.
Mick Babcock
- I’m not sure whether he has actually improved or whether his fitness has been hidden by sitting in the bunch but put him on the front and he’s great, a strong steady pacesetter.
Owen Edwards
- Transformational change in Owen as he prepared for the Etape. Lost loads of weight, got stronger, faster, improved his stamina, became a machine
- Owen signed up for the Etape du Tour 2025 … and as preparation for this tough event really raised his game. Training hard, losing weight, his cycling improved significantly.
Paul Howard

- Really improved over the past 12 months, has taken on more elevation and century rides
Peter Ennis
- Land’s End to John O’Groats not long after starting riding on a Sunday morning club ride
Ryan Clarke
- Ryan has had a a couple of good years and continues to improve with some great results on the track. Also nice to see him staying loyal to Ilkeston despite most of our previous track riders migrating to the race team.

- Regular attendee of the social rides and continues to improve.

- Always helping others when struggling, first time riding in Majorca and did brill.

- Really thrown himself into his training pushing himself out of his comfort zones

- Already a strong rider, but easily stepped up to the Inters Group, really strong rider!
Angela Edwards
- Always a strong and capable rider, Angela just got better and better in 2025. Beasted every hill she tackled!
Fran Langton
- Fran supports, club rides and supports new riders. She has ridden consistently and is constantly looking to improve.
Lynsey Blackburn (Combined: Lynsey Blackburn, Lynsey Blackburn.)
- Lynsey continues to put in excellent performances on Zwift races and TT’s , as well as in the ‘real world’ of cycling.
- She did all the TTs in the summer and also the Boxing Day hill climbs but also put on some great rides in the Peaks
- Always working to impress and the results seem to confirm it.
Tracy Ward (Combined: Tracy Ward, Tracey Ward)

- Flawless in Majorca, strong rider and getting stronger.
- Always out come rain or shine on Inters Lite. Has overcome a lot and has positive attitude.
- The only regular lady to commit on the Inters lite and gets stronger every year.

- Regular ride leader for 30/40. Always thinks about safety of group, friendly and positive person. Would do anything to help you.
- Dave continues to be a stalwart of the club…. He supports many different aspects of cycling from hill climbs, charity rides, to challenges, to social runs…..and is always supportive and helpful to fellow riders.
- Continuing to put himself into organising club rides, TT and hill climbing events and encouraging others
- Dave is a top class gent that takes nothing in return for his great contributions to the club. He runs countless events, keeps things in check and raises money for good causes.
- Organises so many events for the club and regularly leads on a Sunday. Very welcoming to new riders and always encouraging and supporting everyone at the club.
- Continues to organise various club events as well as volunteering as a Ride Captain.

Jeremy James
- Always smiling and happy to contribute. Always motivational when out on rides.
- His continuous attempts to draw people in the club together and commitment to the ride captain role and the inters groups & fantastic ‘away day’ rides.
Paul Shaw (Combined: Paul Shaw, Paul shaw)
- He does soooo much, gives up so much if his time to get people active, always encouraging and advising.
- For his tireless work over the years, he will be sorely missed!
- Fitting tribute after all his years of service in so many roles.

- Does so much for members in his own time. Whilst he has stepped away from membership secretary he puts events on for club members week in, week out over the winter for yoga and zwift events
- For going the extra mile with things like yoga classes in the winter
Richard Tillson (Combined: Richard Tillson, Richard Tilson)
- For his consistent presence in leading the inters-lite, putting rides on every week, helping out with mechanicals, and trying to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable ride. Richard is the inters-lite.
- Weekly support and organisation of the Sunday rides
- Always there to help and assist. Organizes so many different rides.
- Inters lite & other events he leads and organised
- Richard takes the Inters lites out week in week out with great enthusiasm and thinks about everyone within the group, first there to help with any mechanicals or any assistance that is needed
- He runs the health ride he runs the inters lite he runs the away days and he’s stepped up when the club needed him
Steve Wadey
- A top man who has eased back into being a ride leader and more generally, one of the club’s leaders. By a long, long way, he us our most frequent volunteer to help out off the bike, a regular in the hi-viz making things happen and making the club what it is
- Supported the club from the early days. Always a pleasure to ride with. Sets a consistent pace on his rides and has always been a great support on other people’s rides. Been a great advocate for the ladies rides and encouraged others to join us. Does lots of volunteering on the hill climbs and TTs Just an all round top bloke who likes riding his bike with his mates. Big supporter of the local cafe economy can be relied upon to unselfishly tests out new .cafes and routes
Alison Nunn

- Quietly, modestly involved in many areas of club life. Leading, sweeping and supporting ladies rides on Fridays, club rides on Sundays and donning the hi-viz to support TT’s and Hill Climbs. Not one of the club’s fastest riders but this is part of what makes her so inspiring to others
Caroline Appleby
- A very capable cyclist, but one who understands the social side / importance and is always ready to help.
- Caroline is relatively new to the club but has already become a ride Captain, and club Secretary taking over from Paul Shaw, she comes up with some great new ideas and again with great enthusiasm
- Even tho she has cycled at a very high level she tones it down to lead the inters lite round safely she is very funny and also knows how to miss aeroplanes – if you know y you know
Lorraine Wright
- Does a lot to get new riders on Friday rides.Leads rides on and off road and sets up Zwift options on rainy days.
- Organised lots of rides for ladies
- For her efforts to support and encourage female riders
- Lorraine pulls the women’s section together and drives them forwards making space for introductions to cycling as well as pushing the pace for those who want to!
- Organiser of the ICC Ladies Rides, whilst I don’t take part myself, I see what she does and it is appreciated
Lynsey Blackburn (Combined: Lynsey Blackburn, Lyndsey Blackburn)
- For her infectious enthusiasm and ability to get me (and others) involved in all sorts of adventures – from the hills of Mallorca to sunny road rides in the Peak District and more recently, the Tor Divide – a 2 day bike packing venture.
- Has really stepped up this year, helping promote rides and engaging in events

- Sarah is brilliant, always there to get stuck in when with club activities giving it 110%, all for nothing in return. I’ve also heard she’s an excellent flapjack Chef.

- Lynsey is a wonderful example of someone who has improved year on year and organises and encourages other riders. If it wasn’t for Lynsey I would never have done some of the bike rides I have done. She is unfailingly positive and good fun she is the embodiment of what the club is all about as far as i am concerned
Richard Tillson (Combined: Richard Tillson.)
- As well as volunteering as a Ride Captain, he also organises summer cycle trips for Icc as well as running the Ride for Health events.

- Just a lovely, lovely man to ride with. Always relaxed and supportive of others, strong, confident and easy going, capable and dependable. And always with that big, gorgeous smile

- I’d nominate Steve for his upbeat and cheerful attitude on rides, he is always positive and encouraging to all…a good person to pedal with!
- From health rides to club rides, plus promoting cyclists through belper and fat lad at the back he’s become the face of cycling this year

- The welcome, they let us in early. The food, cake or bacon cobs, excellent. The location, just far enough to ride back happy

- Consistently welcoming and great service to big groups
- Easy to book, plenty of seats, quick service, good food, reasonable prices.
- Lots of space, quick service and they do a great little breakfast
- Whilst not the most exciting ride, they have looked after cyclist well, service is always quick, they don’t mind you taking your pride and joy through the cafe, there’s plenty of seating and very good value for money
- This cafe is always happy to see us, out quick with the food, clean place and very obliging
- Fantastic. Always welcoming, quick service, great grub, never phased if a group arrives unplanned. They also did an awesome job catering for 60+ riders on our joint Christmas ride with SCC

Meynell Langley Gardens
- Introduced to this little gem by Steve Wadey. It’s location is prime, in the middle of all of those great little country lanes, food is first rate and they have always been very accommodating. Plus you get that great downhill into Duffield afterwards.
