Jeremy James
- He’s a accident waiting to happen that’s why I don’t ride with him 😂
- Decided it was too cold to be out on the road, and fancied a coffee, so swiftly chucked himself off curb side for no apparent reason, in the smallest slither of mud to be found, right outside the cafe front doors! Thankfully nothing too serious but excuse for a new helmet.
Nick Hammond
- Rides on the limit with seemingly frequent crashes but always bounces back impressively.
- Two crashes this year, both within a few months of each other. His first was him losing his front wheel on a greasy corner, breaking his ribs, which he managed to get the dashcam footage from the driver His second crash was in Miami, where he managed to get himself T-boned, broken his collarbone Yet after his setbacks, he’s still positive as ever, setting himself up with goals for next season. He’s back on the turbo within two weeks of breaking his collarbone. The guy really knows how to put himself in a lot of pain, that’s for sure. #Ardcore
- Nick has had two crashes this year, both within a few months of each other. His first was him losing his front wheel on a greasy corner, breaking his ribs, which he managed to get the dashcam footage from the driver behind. His second crash was in Miami, where he managed to get himself T-boned, broken his collarbone, and had his head stapled back together. Yet after his setbacks, he’s still as cheerful and positive as ever, setting himself up with goals for next season. He’s back on the turbo within two weeks of breaking his collarbone. #ThatLadsArdcore
- Supporting video evidence
Andrew Vianne
- Hard as nails, takes out a waste bin as he crashes! Back to team TT’s on Zwift and turning big numbers! (I think a video is around of his ‘off’)
- For trying to argue with a concrete based waste bin & lost
Paul Shaw
- It was minding it’s own business, leaping from tree to tree, when Paul rode by and crashed into it
- The poor squirrel that was hit by Paul Shaw
Dave Hartley
- Another fine mess Rodney
Joe Ross

Jack Sault
- Straight over the bars and carried on bravely
Paul Howard
- Needs a makeover looking a bit tired 😅
John Passfield
- Well, it’s tradition that he gets it! His clothing doesn’t appear to have changed from last year, inspite of relentless and cutting comments from club members. I admire his independence of sartorial choice, if not what he actually chooses to wear. In a world of Rapha and Castelli, we need a Passfield. And he’s such a decent bloke!
Gordon Thomas Birkin
- Nothing fits properly
Ryan Clarke
- Leopard print all in one
Euan Bell
- You never know what he’ll be wearing

Kay Gallimore
- Always immaculately turned out in matching club kit 😍
Smudge
- Always very dapper and usually coordinates with her bike 🙂
Laura Woods
- If John Passfield is ‘dark matter’, Laura is illuminated matter on a bike! Always turned out well, in colour coordinated kit, socks at correct height, glasses worn outside helmet straps, and tan lines sharper than a very sharp thing..she could have written the ‘velominati rules’ herself. Some may say her desire to ‘sock shop’ whilst on cycling holidays almost exceeded her desire to go for a ride…but you can’t really knock that level of dedication to looking immaculate whilst sweating up a hill!
- Always immaculately turned out
- Always Matchy Matchy and stylish on every ride, even manages to look good wearing a fake beard and tea towel 😉
Sarah Sissons
- All matching kit
- Continues to raise the standards with every ride she goes on
Dave Nunn
- For the Lance Armstrong fancy dress on the Little Eaton Carnival Hill Climb!

Sam Price
- Team GB kit
Gary Swift
- ‘-‘
Steve Wadey
- Improved his fitness and back out leading again.
Jeremy James
- Not fell off this year
- He got it last year, after falling of his bike, this year he stayed upright
Ryan Clarke
- He has gone from being a slightly above average, middle of the pack rider, to one winning or getting podium places regularly. Finishing 4th in the Boxing Day Hill Climb finished off a year that gas seen spectacular PBs and frequent success on the road and on the track.
- He has had some impressive PBs this year and has raced in new events.
- Improved in every discipline road, track, TT and hill climb with first ICC rider and superb time in the Boxing Day Hill Climb.
- From the track, to road, to hillclimbs, even gravel, Ryan has excelled as the year progressed, now an excellent all round cyclist. Ryan started from a fairly low point at start of year and has consistently built up his fitness as the year went on. Come Boxing Day and the ICC hill climb he has a terrific turn of speed. And…he loves his cycling, is consistently cheerful and enthusiastic about whatever aspect of cycling he engages in.
- Slimmed down and goes like a rocket
- Awesome results in all he has entered this year
- Ryan has thrown himself into everything this year—hill climbs, track, CX racing, crits—you name it! His commitment and hard work have paid off with some brilliant results along the way!
- This guy had an amazing 2024 season and deserves recognition for this effort. Well done mate!
- Ryan has had a year of real improvement and has had great results in all disciplines
- Some ace results in numerous disciplines.
- Was at a low this time last year – didn’t score a point at DATL. Turned it around and got everything in gear and went on to get a top 10 in group 2. Also continually encouraged and supported others to success.

Richard Clarke
- His success this year on the track

- Expanded into off road riding and acing everything
- Just gets stronger. Skegvegas and back in a day!!
- Laura has gone from easy going to full speed this year taking on hills with abandonment and also is training for an epic gravel ride in the summer
- Gone from Strength to strength this year!! Mega mileage and elevation, First year tackling TT’s and HC’s and having never done a held start before, smashed up the Nationals HC in Hexham. Cruises up climbs and makes them look effortless, always with a smile while casually taking in the views. Even the gravel the scene isn’t save now. She’s one to watch for the year ahead for sure with even bigger adventures planned.

Richard Tillson
- Route planning and ride leading
- Dedicated to supporting new and regular riders**
- Close call between him and Paul Shaw, but as the club is right up Pauls arse I nominate Richard
- Because of the work he puts into rides, routes and ensuring riders are okay. Above and beyond
- Top bloke, runs the Health ride as well as on most Sundays he Captains the Lite club run and sorts all the rides on team app
- He is so organised with his rides and looks out for everyone who does one of his rides Richard is extremely motivating and I feel safe as part of group when out on one of his rides I feel he fosters a really great team atmosphere and very inclusive

- Ryan Barrell has truly stepped up this year, taking on the chairman role with passion and enthusiasm. Always first to volunteer and help at events—often turning up with the disco to keep the party vibes going!
- Enthusiastic new young person to take the club forward: stepped in as chairman, set up the ICC website, involved in events and general positivity.
- He gets a heck of lot done
- Went above and beyond for the club in 2024. He deserves this award
Dave Hartley
- For years of selfless, patient, skillful dedication building ICC from nothing to the UK’s Cycling Club of the Year, and beyond!
- Recognition for all his hard work as a chair and so much more. The ethos and rock the club is built on.
- He had a vision and dedicated many years to the club. He’s set strong foundations of a great club! Without him all of this would not be possible: the local club, the youth academy inspiring many youngsters.
- A fitting fairwell to the man who has held the club together
- For everything Dave has given to ICC
- Dave deserves more than this award, he built the very foundations we stand on and we wouldn’t be here without him
Paul Shaw
- He does so much, for example, the yoga, the TTT, a day promoting ICC at Decathlon, duathlon training and stepped in at the 11th hour to take on the secretary role
- Paul quietly works so much for ICC….rides, yoga, zwift and now secretary, Unfailingly encouraging to all. Even with health issues at end of year, he still turned up to Zwift sessions to advise and assist…and he could only watch!..who else does that?
- Does so much with his zwift and yoga sessions and is always super supportive
- Always giving up time to organise club events for people, duathlon sessions, yoga and online Zwift, even when he’s been off the bike due to health
- Once again- stalwart of ICC. And then- to top it all- literally saves the club by stepping up & volunteering to be secretary. Alongside everything else he offers- truly above & betond
- Paul continues to play key roles in all aspects of the club, racing on zwift, duathlon training, off roading and even yoga sessions

Geoff Hickman
- For leading the faster inters ride never fails to create a fantastic route always mixing it up happy for anyone to join and always keeps a decent pace
Ryan Clarke
- For simply being everyone’s friend. When you needed a kick up the backside to sort yourself out to put a shift in, he’s the man. On and off the bike one of the most genuine people whose interest is only in others – not himself. He’s done a lot more for this team as he has had credit for. He gets others involved – everyone is welcome when he’s there!
Richard Clarke
- Rich deservedly was second in the world masters sprint and a world champion in the team pursuit but Rich not only flags the flag of Ilkeston on a world level he is the backbone behind youth development. The success the youngsters are achieving is much down to Rich as it is their own ambition. He brings such enthusiasm and fun to their development, I know that whilst today the club is in good hands, the future will be a success due to him
Dave Nunn
- Great representative for the club and all round nice guy! Spends many an evening clock watching so everyone else can race HC’s + TT’s before then giving them a go himself! Always supporting and encouraging of others. I can’t imagine the club being what it is without these well organised events and evenings throughout the year.
