SUMMARY:GRAVITY - The Infamous Boxing Day Hill Climb
DESCRIPTION:TIME IS RELATIVE – GRAVITY IS CONSTANT\n\n\n\nTICKET SALES CLOSE 22/12/2025 \n\n\n\n\n\nThe infamous Bath Street course from the bottom to the top of town never gets easier\, but you can take it at your own pace! Break the rules\, Defy Gravity! \n\n\n\nAll you need to know bout the event is below. The event runs from 9am till around 1:30pm including signing in through to presentations & farewells.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIt’s just over 1/3 of a mile at 5% average gradient and within almost everyone’s grasp. It’s a race against the clock and results will be filtered by age categories\, but for everyone taking part\, it’s a great way to refresh the mind and body from the Christmas festivities so you can go at it again in the afternoon!   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry fees are £6 for adults and £4 for under 16’s and proceeds will go to The Ben Parker Trust Fund who provide holidays for children battling cancer \n\n\n\n\nVisit Ben’s Den\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSign On:\n\n\n\nSign on opens at 9am at Green Spire Church Hall. Please sign on at least 30 mins before your start time  You’ll receive a number to pin on to the back of your jersey and this will need handing back as soon as your race is finished please. The address for the Church is:  \n\n\n\nWharncliffe Road\, Ilkeston\, Derbyshire  DE7 5GF. (see below for a map & directions) \n\n\n\nThere is plenty of public parking available at the top of town near to sign on.  \n\n\n\nStart times will be issued on or before the 24th December on our website\, social media and emailed out.  \n\n\n\nRunning order of the event (click to expand)\nFirst rider set off at 10am and then in 30 second intervals from two lanes thereafter from the bottom of Bath Street. We will advise of start times and lanes prior to the event.  \n\n\n\nIf you miss your slot\, there will be an opportunity to go at the very end of the race\, but please make every effort to get two the start line on time so we can stick to the overall timing.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will conclude at the Green Spire Church with podium presentations for each category (defined by number of entries) with prizes and annual trophies handed to the winners. Depending on numbers\, the event is likely to conclude around 12:30pm.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe road will be closed fully for the duration of the event\, but no later than 2pm. \n\n\n\nAll ages\, backgrounds and abilities will be made to feel very welcome. We are all representing our club and sport. \n\n\n\nPlease remember to hand your race numbers in at the finish line as these are expensive to replace. \n\n\n\nDepending on number of helpers\, there will be “holders” to set you off\, but if not then\, every order will need to set off from a standing start.

SUMMARY:The Midsummer Charity Audax
DESCRIPTION:Spondon & Ilkeston Cycle Clubs are again working together to host their annual Midsummer Audax on Sunday 21st June 2026.  \n\n\n\nFollowing the success of the last two years\, we will be aiming yet again for a hundred hundreds; one hundred riders doing their own century\, either 100 miles or 100km.  \n\n\n\nBoth routes are completely new. We have a new café which is halfway for all riders.  \n\n\n\nWe also have a new\, local charity\, Treetops Hospice Care\, based in Risley and as well as passing there\, each route has been designed to ride past several of their charity shops.  \n\n\n\nAs previously\, we will all start (8am) and finish at the Queens Head in Ockbrook\, where food and drink is available all day and there is a large garden for you all to recuperate and compare rides.  \n\n\n\n***Detailed routes will only be sent out close to the day***  \n\n\n\nWe ask that you do two things to enter:1) Make a donation on the JustGiving page LINK HERE (You choose how much but we would suggest a minimum of £10 please)2) When you have set up your donation\, JUST BEFORE CLICKING TO CONFIRM PAYMENT\, you will be asked if you are happy for us to have your details. They provide nursing care and emotional support for adults with life-limiting conditions\, those who’ve been bereaved\, and their families.  \n\n\n\nTheir services are available free of charge\, from diagnosis onwards. They offer end of life nursing in patients’ own homes\, counselling for grieving children and adults\, personalised wellbeing support and confidential advice.  \n\n\n\nIt costs £5.3 million a year to keep Treetops going and we need to raise over 80% of cost \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNote:All riders do at their own risk/responsibility.
